The vision to open a fair trade store always included a place to encourage and strengthen the creativity of ­children.

I wanted children to feel welcome and wanted in the store – not just ­because I’m a desperate grandmother ­wannabe, but also because children are the inheritors of our world. They bring to us the opportunity to teach them the tools to engender and create our hope. They give us immediate access to the vital work of peace and justice for all humanity.

Our website also includes ways to support the creative and soulful growth of our children. Printable coloring pages are available to spur their interest in people and places around the world. Throughout the product pages are stories of the people who make our merchandise. A snapshot of their country’s demographics is added to broaden our understanding of "home" to members of our global family.

I hope that we will all recommit ourselves daily to the task of nurturing and teaching our children the core value of respect and love for all of humanity. I know that we are equally nurtured and blessed in the lesson-giving. Thank you for the ways you instill and teach hope to others.
